ABAC Dynamic Access

Attribute Based Access Control (ABAC) is the next generation of robust, scalable and dynamic control of information.  The design and implementation of ABAC systems relies on adoption of metadata (information about information) that can be used to control access to data items based on people, place and perspective.   This allows information to be controlled to a highly granular level.

Govern8 was the design and architectural authority for the implementation of several ABAC system managing highly sensitive data.  Based on a Zero-Trust implementation capability, ABAC allows data to be delivered to clients based on the context of the connection.  I.E. someone connecting to data that is NOT from a recognised location can be blocked (not allowed) even although they used identity information that would normally have access.

Protection through Encryption

One method for protecting your assets is the use of encryption when stored (Data at Rest) as well as in transit (Data in Motion).

Govern8 implemented a data encryption technology to secure operational intelligence information for a Southeast Asian military organisation where the different types and sources of data were encrypted with different keys.

This approach allowed for the secure storage and transit of data across the multiple islands of the operational environment with access to data based on access to the keys.   This solution saved time, cost and effort to get operational information to the right people across the archipelago.  The implementation was done in a manner that was easy for the users to use and did not impose a technological overhead on the systems.
